Sarah Boone, the Winter Park, Florida woman accused of murder after zipping her boyfriend inside of a suitcase in 2000, has another lawyer resigning.

Frank Bankowitz, is requesting to be removed from the case, and suggesting that Boone be allowed to represent herself in her trial. He is the 6th lawyer that Boone has had since her arrest. According to Mr. Bankowitz, “The Defendant will not be satisfied with any attorney unless said attorney does not have a case load and can dedicate his or her time solely to Ms. Boone’s case,” Bankowitz wrote in the motion submitted to the court. “The best possible avenue is to have the Defendant represent herself as no attorney can satisfy her.”

Boone has written numerous letters to the Judge, and court complaining about her attorney’s lack of communication and ability to work with her. The case has experienced many issues in obtaining an expert as well for Sarah Boone’s battered spouse defense.

Currently, her trial is scheduled to begin on October 2, 2023.
